130 Barrow Street #411
130 Barrow began life in 1931 as a truck garage and was reborn in 1983 as condominiums by architect Stephen B. Jacobs, whose adaptive reuse earned the Grand Award from the National Association of Homebuilders and was profiled in Architecture magazine as a living space carved out of a garage. The building's signature is volume, and Unit 411 keeps it: 14-foot-3 ceilings, walnut millwork and built-ins, and a duplex layout that reads as loft and lounge at once. A Bocci 14 Series cast-glass chandelier anchors the entry, with a private balcony off the main level.
Renovated by Michael Wood Interiors, the residence pairs an open kitchen of quartzite counters and custom cabinetry with east-facing morning light and a built-in king bed upstairs.
