15 Birch Hill Road

Fifteen Birch Hill Road sits at the end of a long private drive in Weston, a town that has kept its two acre zoning and its woods. The house is barn red, low and rambling, and reads from the lawn as a group of connected volumes rather than a single block.

The heart of it is a barn inspired great room under cathedral ceilings, with painted floors and reclaimed hand hewn beams overhead. It runs directly into the kitchen at one end and out to the screened porch and the pool at the other, which is the whole argument of the plan.

Five bedrooms and five full baths, two fireplaces, brick and hardwood floors. A second vaulted room, generous enough for a gym, a studio or a golf simulator, sits below a loft that takes work or quiet.

Colourful gardens frame the views on each side, with a patio and an in ground pool set into the lawn. The Weston School Campus is a walk or a short ride away.
