Ara Arslanian, a second-generation member of the Arslanian diamond family and a fixture of the 1980s New York art world, bought this stretch of oceanfront just past Jobs Lane in the early 1980s. He was an early supporter of Jean-Michel Basquiat and kept company with Keith Haring and Andy Warhol, and when he finally built here, more than thirty years later, he built for the collection: he is said to have spent nearly a decade on the design with Mark C. Matthews Architecture and Francis D'Haene of D'Apostrophe Design, finishing in 2018 a house whose Arcadia glazing is UV-protective, specified so works by Warhol, Basquiat, Haring, Koons, and Schnabel could hang beside open water. Arslanian died in November 2025; the house stands as he completed it.

The 1.91 acres sit south of the highway on the ribbon of dune between the Atlantic and Mecox Bay, so the day runs sunrise over the ocean, sunset over the bay. Matthews drew the 7,059 square feet as a linear shoreline plan, every principal room set to the ocean: a main room joining living, dining, and kitchen, seven bedrooms across three floors, two fireplaces, a gym, an office, and a media room, with a three-story glass elevator rising over the dunes and a rooftop deck that takes the full circle of water.
