2017 El Cerrito Place

Outpost Estates was the hillside tract Charles Toberman, the developer called the Father of Hollywood, laid out in the 1920s with deed restrictions requiring Spanish and Mediterranean homes with red-tile roofs, vetted by an architectural committee. This 1927 Spanish estate on El Cerrito Place sits squarely inside that original covenant.

The house reads like a collector’s: a two-story circular foyer, storybook archways, century-old Indonesian columns, salvaged Indian and Moroccan doors, and 150-year-old Tuscan terracotta underfoot, with a heated waterfall pool and spa outside.
