On July 29, 2016, Inès Lamunière took title to a corner lot at Greene and Classon Avenues, 25 feet wide and 52 deep, carrying a one story building that dated to about 1930. She filed a new building application that December, four stories and forty feet, two dwelling units, with Matthias Müller of MuNYC architecture as architect of record, and the old structure came down the following year. The Department of Buildings issued the final certificate of occupancy on January 8, 2026.

What the permits do not record is that the owner who filed them is a professor emerita of EPFL, where she chaired the architecture department, and a principal of dl-a designlab-architecture in Geneva. She was drawing for herself. In October 2024 she presented the house at the Center for Architecture on a bill with her Pictet bank tower in Geneva, under the title A House and a Tower. The lot sits outside the Clinton Hill Historic District, which is why a white stucco house with a perforated orange steel door could go up on this corner at all. Inside, the concrete she poured is left showing on one flank of the stair, and nowhere else.
