4 Sniffen Court

Sniffen Court is a flagstone mews with an iron gate at the street and ten brick stables on either side. Number 4 has the arched window wall, a dark door at the left and a bed of potted plants under the sill. Inside, the living room is two stories high: the floor plan gives the ceiling as 18 feet 9 inches, and a brass chandelier hangs between the brick fireplace and the stair. The room measures 18 feet 10 inches by 27 feet, with a skylight in the roof above it.

A French door at the back of the living room opens to a short hall papered as shelves of books, under a green barrel vault and ending in a red Dutch door. The dining room is at the front, behind a window wall of white casements. Two bedrooms are upstairs, the larger with a half-round window and a floor painted blue. The kitchen is on the lower level along a whitewashed stone wall and painted beams, and a roof terrace of 19 by 30 feet sits above.
