The block has a working past. This stretch of 11th Street falls within the 2012 Park Slope Historic District Extension, which folded in the former Ansonia Clock Works just up the street, once the largest clock factory in the world, along with the modest houses that grew up around it as the neighborhood filled in after Prospect Park opened. Easy to forget, standing on a quiet residential street today, that the men who built it once walked to a factory floor a block away.
