67 Perry Street

Nos. 67 and 69 Perry Street went up together in 1878, a pair of French Flats that the builder Cunningham McBurnie put up for himself from designs by Lamb and Wheeler. The firm was Hugh Lamb and Lorenzo B. Wheeler, a four-year partnership that had dissolved by 1882 and became Lamb and Rich, the office behind Sagamore Hill and the main building at Pratt.

The Landmarks Commission's 1969 Greenwich Village report records what is still there: brownstone, five stories, a Neo-Grec bracketed cornice, paired entrances under a wide cornice slab with a wrought-iron balcony rail, and cast-iron handrails with a water-lily-pad motif. The angular bay of No. 67 reaches the street line of its neighbor. The building has been a co-op since 1963 and still files under the name Perry Twin Flats.

Apartment 3 is a two-bedroom, two-bath co-op of 1,275 square feet, newly renovated. High ceilings, hardwood floors and oversized windows carry the rooms; the kitchen runs DeVOL fixtures with a Sub-Zero refrigerator and a Viking range.
