Darcy’s Perch went up in the 1920s, in the generation of Catskills cabins built when the railroad still ran up Esopus Creek. It sits on a forested acre minutes from downtown Phoenicia, and the renovation kept the vintage character rather than replacing it.

The setting

Phoenicia is the Catskills town that kept its main street: a diner, an outfitter, the Esopus for tubing. From the cabin, the trails, swimming holes and Belleayre and Hunter slopes are all a short drive, and a fire pit holds the evenings.
