Sørupvej 54

The terrace in front of the living room faces south and west and ends at the edge of Esrum Sø. Cecilieshvile stands on a 996 m² plot in Sørup, a village at the south-east end of the lake, and its lawn runs down to a jetty the house owns for bathing and boats.

The house is thatched and half-timbered, white panels between black timbers, with two eyebrow dormers cut into the roof. A wide window in the living room looks across the reeds to the wooded far shore, and in October the far shore turns orange and yellow. A willow leans over the bank, and a rock stands in the shallows a few metres out.

Sørup has a harbour with pontoons along the shore, and Fredensborg and its palace gardens are a short drive away.
