Parlor-floor studio

The studio

The studio is the parlor floor of a four-story house on Sullivan Street, up a stoop from the street in the South Village Historic District, with fourteen-foot ceilings. The two tall windows face west, and the afternoon light comes in across painted white floorboards. A plaster arch on scrolled corbels opens onto a galley kitchen with a gas range. The bath is white subway tile over a slate floor, with a tub.
